About the Program

What CORP funds, and what reviewers look for

CORP supports community-owned economic development at the stage where most projects stall, before they are bankable. Strong applications show community support, a credible opportunity, and a clear path from study to enterprise.

Where ISC CORP fits

  • Feasibility studies and business plans for community-owned enterprises
  • Engineering design scopes that move projects toward shovel-ready
  • Support for partnerships, negotiations, and market development
  • Band Council Resolution and governance documentation support

On our files. We prepared CORP applications across multiple project phases for a First Nation's commercial agriculture enterprise, including engineering design scopes for both the facility and the building.

How We Help

From idea to fundable

Opportunity check

Is the opportunity real, sized, and CORP-eligible? We pressure-test it before any application work begins.

Phase the work

We sequence feasibility, business planning, and design so each CORP phase builds on the last.

Council & community alignment

Band Council Resolution, documented support, and the community priorities reviewers want to see.

Common Questions

ISC CORP questions we hear most

Can CORP fund a project that already has other federal funding?

Often yes, within stacking limits. Sequencing matters, and we structure applications so programs reinforce rather than conflict with each other.

How long does a CORP decision take?

It varies by region and intake volume. We prepare complete files so regional officers can move them forward without rounds of back-and-forth.

Who is eligible for ISC CORP funding, and how much can a community receive?

The Community Opportunity Readiness Program funds First Nation and Inuit communities pursuing community-owned economic development. Amounts scale to the project and the readiness stage, from early planning through pre-construction. We assess eligibility and right-size the ask before you apply.
